What are you doing mr obama?

He has actually attempted it to close it repeatedly but fails to get to the funds to actually move the prisoners. Senate has refused multiple times since his call to action in 2008- which surprisingly, enough was a very unpopular decision. Along with that, no country has taken responsibility of the prisoners and most have refused to accept them.

You understand that Obama can’t just go lock the doors and tell all of the prisoners to come live with him or something, right? You understand that Presidential power is actually very limited in domestic matters and Guantanamo Bay is a domestic matter.

what people actually believe: the president has all of the power to do whatever he wants

could it be that running a nation is more complicated than that? we’ll never know.

additionally if we throw in the fact that basically everythin is republican-majority now, he can no longer do shit, because they won’t let him. because they want him to fail in his promises, and they want him to get booted and have the votes come to their side. they’re playin’ America like a drum and y’all are steppin’.

He’s not a bad leader, he’s a leader who struggles to get shit done when the tremendous amounts of wealthy republican crybabies are making it their first priority is to get in Obama’s way at every turn.

I’ll call out Obama on any number of disappointments, but dude has seriously tried (and still trying) on this one.
